How to Discern

So many choices
Which one is true
Which one is best
For me & for you

It is not always easy
Choosing the right
One will bring darkness
While the other brings light

Child I show you
How to discern
Heed these my words
That you may learn

First study it out
Take time to reflect
Then make your choice
And pray with respect

If your choice be right
Thy bosom shall sear
Then know of a surety
This choice to revere

If stupor of thought
Is what you receive
If you forget what you prayed
This choice you may leave

If neither stupor nor sear
Has come into view
This is wisdom dear child
It is all up to you

Thank you, dear Father
My heart you have won
My choice is made
Thy Will Be Done
