My Love Cannot Be Won

My gracious Father in Heaven
Forgive me now I pray
Many temptations are before me
I’m afraid I’ve gone astray

Sometimes I am weak
And often I have faltered
But always have I loved Thee
That has not been altered

Strength is what I pray for
To free myself from sin
Draw closer to Thy Holy Son
And try Thy love to win

You’re mistaken My dear child
My love cannot be won
Always has it been with thee
To accept or yours to shun
