The Answer Has Been Given

I am always so confused
What ever should I do
Nothing really seems right
In this world that I go through

Distractions abound high and low
Many shadows blur the truth
How am I to decide for myself
And this while I’m in my youth

I long for a standard virtuous and true
To guide me on my way
So I may always choose the right
No matter what others say

My heart is fearless yet very gentle
I’m compassionate to all
To whom am I supposed I look
To whom am I to call

The answer has been given
It’s been here all along
He teaches us to love
For us to all be strong

His path is always straight
No need for us to wander
But perchance if you do
There’s much that you will squander

Earthly titles are brought to naught
No reward is in the end
Heed what He has taught
And His spirit He will send
